Following the signing of Raphael Varane from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid, English Premier League giants Manchester United now have themselves one of the best central defensive pairing in the league. United had one of the best defensive records in the league last season but their central defenders still showed some signs of being shaky sometimes and it cost them some goals and then some points eventually. United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær identified that area as one of the places to improve on this summer and he has now signed a new player to partner with Harry Maguire at the heart of the club’s defense in Raphael Varane.
Chivu, a former Argentina and Inter Milan central defender has now had his say on the signing and reveals that Varane is a top defender who will bring a lot of experience to United. The former defender revealed that Maguire and Varane will form a great partnership at the heart of United’s defense this season and that they only need to be free in establishing communications between one another.
Varane will become United’s second signing of this summer after the Red Devils completed and announced a deal for England international forward Jadon Sancho from German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund earlier in the window for a deal of around £73 million.
