INTER CHANGES HANDS

The Italian club that sold the 70% stake to the Indonesian business man Erick Thohir as Massimo Moratti stepped down from the position and now will remain being an Honorary President lost the chance to get into higher positions in Serie A after only claiming a 1-1 draw against Bologna.

Bologna is a club that is struggling just to remain in the Italian side trying to stay away from the relegation zone but still managed to snatch 1 point against Inter Milan as the team played in a surprisingly disappointing fashion.

Walter Mazzari spoke about the match and told the Italian media:

“If we want to stay at the top level, then we can’t keep throwing points away like this,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

“We created even more chances than usual. It looked like the goal was cursed and in these situations you can even lose.

“We had a series of naive errors on Bologna’s goal and it made the game an uphill struggle. We missed the seemingly impossible, but that is football and if you don’t take your chances then you don’t win.”

Inter Milan was expected to come out as the victorious side but they could only manage to secure 1 point out of the match and sees Inter Milan sitting in 4th place behind the table toppers Juventus by 8 points and their objective getting further and further out of the reach of Walter Mazzarri’s side.

As they are not participating neither in the Champions League nor the Europa League it will be even further disappointment if they fail to make a real challenge towards the silverware of Italy, The Scudetto.

INTER HAVE CHARACTER

The manager of Inter Milan, Walter Mazzarri, has hailed his side for showing character in the last game against Fiorentina.

Inter defeated Fiorentina by a close margin of 2-1 and moved up to no. 2 in the Serie A points table. They have played 5 league games so far out of which they have won 4, while; one has ended in the form of a draw. They have got 13 points at the moment.

Mazzarri was appointed as Inter boss at the start of this season and he seems to be doing his job fantastically well. Inter is playing with a positive approach and is putting up consistent performances.

However, in the game against Fiorentina, Nerazzurri was under pressure at one point of time. They were down by 0-2 with only 20 minutes to go and to secure 3 points was not looking easy for them. But, they remained calm and with a couple of wonderful strikes, they eventually managed to pull off the win.

The two guys who found the net for Inter against Fiorentina were Jonathan and Esteban Matias Cambiasso.

Talking to the reporters at the end of that game, Mazzarri said, “We were facing a high class side and we struggled at times. We gave them a few scoring chances, but, luckily, at the end, we got what we wanted.”

“We need to show a little more maturity, but, the boys should be praised for what they have done so far.”

Inter had ended the last season at the ninth position in the Serie A points table, but, the fortunes of the team seem to be changing under Mazzarri this season.

When asked about that, the 52 years old said, “All credit goes to the players. It’s because of them I am getting praised.”

Betting tips on Chelsea

Backing Chelsea to win the Premier League may be one of the safest bets you make next season. This is mainly because the Blues have very little in their way to a fourth Premier League title and with Jose Mourinho back in charge they have a proven formula in the English top flight.

Mourinho still has a core of players he used to win the title in 2005 and 2006, with John Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech present. Additions such as Branislav Ivanovic, Ramires and Juan Mata have given this team extra flair and with the right boss in charge Chelsea can go far next term.

Compare their situation to Manchester United, who may struggle to even make the top three with new manager David Moyes embarking on the club’s first Sir Alex-less season in 26 years. Across the city Manuel Pellegrini is preparing for his first season in English football at the Etihad Stadium and few betting punters believe this unstable team are competent enough to mount a serious title challenge. Meanwhile both Arsenal and Tottenham are a long way off perfection and Liverpool are about to lose the only player – Luis Suarez – who could bring trophies back to Anfield. CHIVU CHASED

Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu only recently signed a new contract extension with the club to extend his stay at the San Siro, but it appears that his spell at the club may be cut short as a result of interest from Turkey. The Romanian defender has been subjected to interest from the likes of Galatasaray, while Inter Milan also appear to be willing to sell the player in order to reduce the wage bill. The Italian giants have missed out on the European football for the upcoming season, which will cost a huge dent in their revenues.

In order to compensate for this low revenue, they are planning to trim their wage bill by selling some of the higher earning and older stars. Chivu has been one of the consistent defenders in the Italian league since arriving from Roma a few years ago. The player’s agent, though, has rejected such speculation by saying that his client is not looking for a move away from the San Siro. Inter Milan are also looking at bringing in some of the potential stars before the end of the transfer window. They have been linked with São Paulo player Wellington, but São Paulo vice president has said that they will not sell the player.

“They are only rumours. The only time I heard proposals from Turkey it has been last season. Chivu wants to respect until the end his deal with Inter and ending his career with Nerazzurri,” said Chivu’s agent. “Inter Milan have not made any official offer and even if they do, we won’t accept. We don’t have any intention of letting Wellington go, he is a very promising player and we all like him a lot at Sao Paulo. He has gained recognition, he is always paid when it’s due and we are calm regarding Wellington,” said São Paulo vice president.
