MAZZARRI IS SAFE

The Internazionale head Mr. Erick Thohir says he has no plans to do the analysis of the work of the head coach Walter Mazzarri in near future.

After Inter’s big losses to Cagliari and Fiorentina, some newspapers in Italy had quoted the club chairman saying that the manager’s job was unsafe and the results of the next couple of games would determine if he continues or gets handed the axe. After that, the names of some unemployed managers started to pop up with Robert Mancini being rumoured as the strongest contender. Continue reading “MAZZARRI IS SAFE”

Mazzarri Extends Contract With Inter

Walter Mazzarri has extended his contract with Inter Milan as the Italian coach will remain in charge of the club at least until 2016. The president of Inter Milan, Erick Thohir revealed his satisfaction concerning their decision of keeping the tactician for a longer period of time.

Erick Thohir said in a statement of Inter Milan’s website: ‘’We’re very happy to have extended our coach’s contract. With this extension we have made it clear that Mazzarri is a cornerstone of our project. I’m confident with the hard work and dedication he has shown he’ll achieve great things at this club’’

The Italian club is undergoing a series of changes as Javier Zanetti was recently announced to be the new vice-president of the club after spending 19 years as a player of Inter Milan while Nemanja Vidic was also unveiled as one of the latest reinforcements for the team of Mazzarri.

Nemanja Vidic arrived to San Siro on a free transfer after playing 8 seasons with the Premier League club Manchester United and even at his 32 years of age, the Serbian defender is looking forward to new challenges in his career and this is one of the main reasons on why he decided to make a move to a new league and club.

‘’I don’t think this is a step backwards in my career, I believe this is a step forward for me. Italian football suits my game well and, as I said before, I have joined one of the big European clubs. English football is different to Italian but that doesn’t mean that Italian is simpler’’ Vidic said during his first press conference as a player of Inter Milan.

Walter Mazzarri and Erick Thohir are hoping that with the arrival of Nemanja Vidic and a few other players will help Inter Milan in their upcoming season will be a better one then their previous campaign where they only managed on securing the 5th spot the squad received a large amount of criticism for inconsistent performances throughout the entire season.

Ince Turns Down Inter Milan Offer

Tom Ince was a summer target of Inter Milan and even though the transfer window is not over, Ince has already revealed his desire to continue playing in the Premier League which means that Inter Milan will have to focus and set their sights on other players which might be easier to sign in the transfer market.

One of the latest decisions that Inter Milan has made in relation with adding players into their squad after their failure of signing Tom Ince is taking full ownership of Mauro Icardi.

Mauro Icardi was co-owned by Sampdoria and Inter Milan but a few days ago it was confirmed by the team which is being guided by Walter Mazzari that their agreement has terminated and now the Argentinean player is fully owned by Inter Milan.

“FC Internazionale and U.S. Sampdoria have reached an agreement to terminate their co-ownership of the striker who is now fully owned by Inter,” Inter Milan said in a statement on Tuesday.

Newcastle United’s Hatem Ben Arfa made a total of 27 league appearances for his club in the previous season but 14 of those appearances came as a substitute player which is evidence of the time he has spent on the sidelines of the English club and that he has not made a very significant impact in the team of Alan Pardew.

Considering the fact that Ben Arfa is not a consistent first time player and choice for Alan Pardew in Newcastle United, it would be a good decision for the English manager to sell Ben Arfa and utilize the cash injection to strengthen areas of the team that are in need of reinforcement.
